The church stood ready in 1969 and still today I find it very modern and so – well, Finnish! It is excavated into the solid granite bedrock which gives it a very solemn and sincere atmosphere. This church moves my guests and it moves me, every time!
The acoustics are excellent, thanks to the uneven wall structure so the church is popular for concerts, too. In the summer season there is live music every day, performed by professional artists on the organ or the grand piano.
